Holistic or Holy?
Years ago, entangled in a seriously idolatrous number of “holistic” practices and beliefs, The Word made a distinction that completely changed me. I found that what I actually wanted was holiness. HIS holiness. I learned that my protection from harm was not found in all that I was doing to avoid disease, but by my submission to Him: obedience to what He called “right”, receiving what He calls “Good”, and consequently rendering to Him what belongs to Him--my entire being and its energy.
Holiness is the oneness of being that produces shalom, a character trait only inherited from a Holy, Perfect Father. Holism is "a study or method of treatment that is concerned with wholes or with complete systems : a holistic study or method of treatment". Similar enough to be deceptive, different enough to keep us without the Truth.
Does He care about every facet of your being? Indeed. But doesn't this protection and care require our full surrender of the same? That's why "holistic" is tempting--wanting the fruit but despising the root.
If we believe (Even if it is not a conscious, acknowledged belief) that pregnancy and childbirth (and ALL other physical sufferings that humans experience!) are inherently dangerous (or in the case of illness, out of His direct capacity/willingness to heal), then we either believe that we are made by an incompetent Creator, or have an uncaring Father. As The Lord’s most highly prized creature, humans are also the most unfaithful. What other mammal do we know that does so much to control and manage the process, yields their bodies and offspring into the hands of people in the name of “safety”-- something that Yah alone can offer? There is no “product” called deliverance because it’s not something you can buy, and it is only received by grace, THROUGH FAITH (trust, confidence, faithfulness). Ephesians 2:8 Trusting the design by witnessing nature, yet not trusting the Designer--that is "holistic".
If it’s of a nefarious origin (demonic), it’s not of The Word. If it is not Complete, it is not of The Word. If it requires manipulation to get, we are taking, not receiving, and it can't possibly be a Good Thing (gift from the hand of the integral Creator).
I believe that Satan has plagiarized holiness and called it holistic. Holistic is just a knock-off of holiness. Holy is anything that belongs to the Lord, given(rendered) in its completeness. As we lost our holiness in Eden, we received it back through the blood of Yeshua, making us holy and complete. This is determined by the wholeness of the offering we Holiness is when the WHOLE being (our mind, body, and spirit) is at rest, because we have received our wholeness through our Messiah and love and live in the Light. We cannot receive this wholeness through holistic practices. But His holiness will train us to see what YHVH defines as whole and good, and pursue/yield to His ways. Isaiah 45 mentions that “in YHVH alone are rightness and strength”, and it is this rightness that we are seeking as we pursue what is whole and complete of nature. The philosopher behind holism disintegrates transformation and the beauty of completeness from the Author and Creator of heaven and earth, and his perspective has nothing to do with holiness or the Power and Hand of Yah. But this is the origin of the word holistic. As believers in YHVH, we need to know the difference between the knock off and true holiness, so that we can discern what is true, right and good according to our Father. Holistic practices cannot heal or save us, but submitting to His holiness does.
Yeshua's holiness brings what is divided into parts by sin, the Oneness that makes full capacity life possible. I envision a broken milk bottle unable to hold anything--without His blood making us whole, we can't hold anything good. But once whole, we also can be filled.
Many good practices are labeled “holistic”, even by Christian teachers. We need to realize that we believe in something greater than holism, and that the only true wholeness that we can receive comes from fully trusting The Word; the only actual protection that we can have access to is by entrusting ourselves to a faithful Creator, while doing good. (1 Peter 4:19)
What we see is the world acknowledging (by pursuing “holistic” ways) that His way is good and true, while trying to disintegrate the Truth from the Author.
Choosing holiness doesn’t merely give us access to the wisdom that is from above (which informs our discernment, consumption and participation in what heals and fills) , but it also provides the protection of knowing personally, and trusting the Creator and Author of all that is Truly Good.

So many of us though call what we recognize as wholesome and true “holistic”. I know it's just a word...but lets check into what we are saying. Let’s not let the enemy claim any credit for what Abba has done! We His children recognize and acknowledge His rightness, completeness and justice (alignment to truth) in all His designs. It is disturbing that folks who clearly deny The Creator as their authority have more confidence in/will more willingly pursue what is clearly of Good Nature, than folks who say they believe in the Most High.
“Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.”Ephesians 4:17-18 ESV

Holism is a plagiarism of that. This isn't any different than a believer embracing the faulty principles Paul spoke against, Epicurean and Stoic (which represent the same two sides of the coin as Sadducees and Pharisees)--also easily identified as the self-indulgent and self-restrained. Neither are of the Holy Spirit.
The Word was revealing to me a few days ago that The Spirit is a direction, a force, an energy driving toward holiness. Our own spirits carry us this way and that, also known as "turning aside". As long as we submit to where His Holy Spirit (The Word) directs, we head in a single direction: increased holiness and purity.
All of us are really longing for integrity, we are made to desire it from the depths of our being, and we recognize when something lacks integrity. When we put our trust in something that lacks integrity, we feel fear. This is because we are made for the truth, and we sense the absence of security in what is false. All of the enemy's deceptions result in fear, and truth always result in freedom from the very same thing.
Why would we participate in trusting the fruitless and weak "powers" that are the same as trusted by those living in the darkness?
“Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods. But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?” Galatians 4:8-9 ESV
“And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again, “Behold, I and the children God has given me.” Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham.” Hebrews 2:13-16 ESV

“I do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the Elohim of our Master יהושע Messiah, the Father of esteem, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, so that you know what is the expectation of His calling, and what are the riches of the esteem of His inheritance in the set-apart ones, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who are believing, according to the working of His mighty strength, which He wrought in the Messiah when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, far above all rule and authority and power and mastery, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all, to the assembly, which is His body, the completeness of Him who fills all in all.” Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 1:16-23 TS2009
“Be obedient to God, and do not allow your lives to be shaped by those desires you had when you were still ignorant. Instead, be holy in all that you do, just as God who called you is holy. The scripture says, “Be holy because I am holy.””1 Peter 1:14-16 GNTD
