Delivered
You’ll also notice the first childbirth in history, חוה (Chavvah—which means “life”) bears Cain and acknowledges immediately that she has acquired him by the help of יהוה. Have you noticed the language in Scripture is "bore a son" or "bore a daughter", not "delivered"? Many women were "delivered" from barrenness, and we all know Who does that. The false signs and wonders nowadays attempting the same are proving flawed, incomplete, dangerous and painful. It's so clearly not His Hand.
During my pregnancy with Laurel (my first freebirth), I was having a conversation with a family member who was concerned that we might not be able to get a birth certificate for her if we didn’t at least hire a midwife to record things. They said “I have no problem with Drew delivering…” and at the time, it grated on my flesh because I "knew" based on the ideas of the world, that it was I, not the catcher, that should get the credit.
The Word is so faithful and gentle to correct prideful or arrogant trains of thought that we aren’t even perceiving!
There’s a meme being shared in birth circles that reflects my old perception, and that of so many unbelieving women. It says “no one delivered your baby, you birthed it.” The caption encourages women to "take credit"...and this is where it becomes clear that this isn't set-apart thinking.
It’s half true. Yes, women are honored with the challenge of birthing and it is HARD. But there is a Deliverer. His hand is power. Without that power, we have absolutely nothing. The proof of this is in our ignorance of WHEN it will happen, HOW it will happen, how LONG it will take, WHO is being born, and our own lack of capacity to control a labor contraction! All of this is of another Power, we cannot manipulate any of it and trying has left so many hurt.
Labor and birth is an incredibly intense and difficult work that is so hard that many women choose to opt out of this part by pharmakeia. She who chooses to yield to it is rewarded as He delivers her, and the valor that blesses her is radiant with pleasure.
As I was first learning to surrender my body to His authority, I read Isaiah 46:23 in the NIV version: “in The Lord alone are deliverance and strength.” Having dig a little deeper I see that this rendering takes some liberties, that word is “righteousness” or “rightness”, but there are countless scriptures in which יה reveals Himself as the only True Deliverer.
In other words, what The Word speaks, IS.

“See now that I, I am He, And there is no Elohim besides Me. I put to death and I make alive. I have wounded, and I heal. And from My hand no one delivers!”
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 32:39
In other words, what The Word speaks, IS.
“Will I bring a baby to the point of birth
and not deliver it?”
says the Lord;
“or will I who deliver, close the womb?”
says your God. Isaiah 66:9
Our God is a God of salvation, and to GOD, the Lord, belong deliverances from death. Psalm 68:20
Our images, monitoring, education, knowledge, physical maneuvering and intervention, aiming to get into a position of authority over birth is ignorant. I cannot deliver my own baby. Neither can my husband or any other human. We can yield to His deliverance…or not. By not doing so, we do not add layers of “safety” to the process, if He has already spoken life, but we may complicate and add layers of expensive trial and trauma.
The Word is power. The more attention I apply to Him, the more familiar I become, the more I trust Him and the less I believe that He needs my help. See, He is so powerful, He delivers not only from danger, death and enemies, but even our fears of those things. See all the Psalms, and Sirach 2 for some reinforcement!

"And Ḥannah prayed and said, “My heart rejoices in יהוה, my horn has been high in יהוה. My mouth is opened wide over my enemies, for I have rejoiced in Your deliverance.
“There is no one set-apart like יהוה, for there is no one besides You, and there is no rock like our Elohim.
“Do not multiply words so proudly, proudly; let no arrogance come from your mouth, for יהוה is an Ěl of knowledge, and by Him deeds are weighed." 1 Samuel 2:1-3
If we claim Yeshua (which means Deliverance of Yah) as our Deliverer, to receive His holiness, humility is required.
